Nothing Is Ever Unattended

Have you thought about that? There is no chance. No detail is left to hazard. Not one single thing is out of control. Not in our control, granted. Humans are completely and wonderfully not in charge. Jesus makes the point wonderfully in Matthew 6:27, when he asks, "And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?" (ESV). In verse 33, he tells us that instead of worrying about food or clothes or our lives, we're to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

Sometimes, God calls us to make decisions that take us away from the very things we care about. But, God, how can you fix this if I don't ________? (How can you save my boyfriend if I break up with him? I'm the only person witnessing to him!) The truth is, he can probably fix it more easily once we stop meddling.

Is there something you know you need to leave for God to work on? Something you've been trying to control or fix that hasn't been going right. It's time to take 1 Peter 5:6-7 to heart: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Hallelujah, he cares for you, and his hand is mighty. When you leave a situation to God, you are not leaving it to chance. It is never unattended.

Love,
Your Sister
