What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do

When you're up against huge life choices, there's no denying that what you decide to do with the next semester, summer, year and beyond could alter the course of your life. No pressure, right? Plus, I think as Christians we put even more pressure on ourselves because we believe that there is a definite right and wrong choice to make. There is one path God wants us to take... now if we just knew which one...
I can't tell you what choice is the right one for your life, but here are some ideas for how to figure it out:

Get in your Bible and pray. "We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer," Proverbs 16:1 (NLT). So get in the Bible to find it and ask your friends to pray for you, too.

Know that it's not really up to you anyway. "We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps," Proverbs 16:9 (NLT).

Ask for advice. "Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success," Proverbs 15:22 (NLT). Just make sure you get your advice from people with solid relationships with God. And make sure the advice you accept lines up with what you know about God.

  1. Hi..nice blog. I also just read your query letter on a blog( nice one). I am a Nigerian Christian sister who is also pursuing a writing dream. It is good to know that God has called us in this generation to spread his word. Keep going on, and May God bless you!

  2. Thank you for stopping by, Abix. May God bless you and your writing as you follow his lead.
